A Dangerously Fun Murder Mystery Game

What is Mordrün?
Mordrün (more-DROON) is a board game for 2+ players and ages from 13+ (young children may require some adult help along the way). Play time can be anywhere from 5 mins to 2 hours depending on the number of players, luck, and play style. At its core, it is a classic murder mystery game. However, it incorporates a flair of RPG play style that opens up the game play to a variety of styles. No session is ever the same.
*This game is still under development and the artwork/graphic design pictured is not an exact representation of the final release.

...but what IS Mordrün?
Mordrün is a town in a medieval light fantasy setting. An evil spirit has been contained in the town by a powerful Druid. However, the spirit has grown stronger and the Druid has requested the help of 6 adventurers. Unfortunately for the Druid, these adventurers aren't exactly as he may have hoped. Upon arrival in the desolate town, some of the adventurers have found the body of the slain Druid and a journal next to the body with the last entry reading "...I hope these... people, I have called upon, can help me save this town from evil. Someone is at my door, I must go now." One of the adventurers has an ulterior motive and has slain the Druid and thus released the evil spirit. It is up to the players to figure out the mystery of Who killed him, with What weapon, and Where it happened.

What makes it different from a classic mystery game?
While solving the mystery is the core play style, Mordrün offers players many more options similar to TTRPG games, but with less headache. Players may play Dangers (such as Monsters and Traps) on other Players, they may fight each other, there are Items to be gathered that will help fight off the many Dangers that may appear in the town, and there is also a Dragon that may make an appearance and can wreak havoc on a group of Players. If, and when, a Character dies, the player is not out of the game. They then play as a Ghost and give the remaining players an increased level of difficulty in solving the mystery. A player may win the game by solving the mystery, figuring out that their Character is the murderer and being the last surviving Character, or the game itself can win with all Players becoming Ghosts before the mystery is solved. It is a card playing, dice rolling, dangerously fun time!

This sounds great!
Where can I get this?
Currently, Mordrün is still in development but is in a public play testing phase. It will be play tested in early 2025 in the Richmond, VA local areas in person (see the schedule below). It is also available for virtual play testing via Tabletop Simulator and Screentop.gg. Please use the Contact form to inquire about play testing through Tabletop Simulator or Screentop.gg. The mechanics of the game have been tested internally over the past year and hundreds of play sessions. The artwork and graphics of it are still under development and in partnership with Flesh of Gods, a top tier grim dark 3d modeling creator. They not only develop the best models that I've seen, but their RPG content has also fueled my own D&D 5e based campaign for years. Mordrün is intended to be prereleased in a limited form with grayscale sketched artwork to help fund further development. It will then run a crowd funding campaign for full retail production. There is already an Item Card expansion of 18 cards which will be included in the prerelease version. There will also be custom miniature models created by Flesh of Gods for the 6 Characters, all 10 Monsters, 10 Ghosts and the Dragon available as add-ons at the initial release. The prerelease version will be tentatively sold in an "assemble yourself" form. This will be a much lower cost than the retail boxed version and will be produced in-house. This "assemble yourself" version is what you see pictured currently. Some of the artwork/graphic design may differ when that becomes available here on this website. We have plans to develop further expansions to this game as it grows after a full retail release of the core game.
